BLOG No. 9 ~ GARY WOLFSTONE  :: "Mother's Day!"

Gary L. Wolfstone

A Special Holiday in Finland

WELCOME TO GARY WOLFSTONE'S BLOG 9 ~ Mother's Day 2012

   All of the stores and markets are closed today. Mother's Day is another one of those special holidays in Finland when the economy grinds to a halt, and family gatherings prevail. Kulta is a Mummie [grandmother] so my family follows suit. Margus, Dagmar, Johanna and Emelia will join us for a feast and celebration later today. We miss our family in Yhdesvallat [the United States], and we pray for their health and happiness.

   Today is a glorious day ~ bright, sunny and warm ~ and it makes me happy to be in Finland. I only wish the people in the Holy Land and in Africa could know the peace and tranquility of this Paradise where I am presently living. Kulta and I went for a walk on Arabia Ranta, and the people seemed friendly and content.

   I had the pleasure of attending a Harvard Club (of Finland) luncheon this past Thursday and listening to a fascinating presentation by the CEO of Asymco who is a Harvard MBA. The attendees were predominantly Harvard MBA's with a sprinkling of Harvard Law grads.

   I have also joined the Harvard Law School Club of Europe whose annual meeting is held in Zurich, Switzerland this year. Apparently, the meetings are held in European cities annually. And so the moon keeps on spinning and circling Mother Earth. All is well in the universe ~ from my lips to God's ear!
