BLOG No. 7 ~ GARY WOLFSTONE  :: "Kulta!"

Gary L. Wolfstone

WELCOME TO GARY WOLFSTONE'S BLOG 7 ~ Finland ~ Kultaseni [ Gold; Sweetheart ]

Kulta is the Finnish word for gold, and the Finns use Kulta for Sweetheart. Possessive becomes "Kultaseni" and "seni" translates as "mine."

We woke up to another fresh snowfall this morning. The snow is of course a pure white blanket which completely transforms the landscape. Everything old is new again! Kulta had morning shift this morning which means her alarm clock jars us out of a deep and soothing sleep at 5:00 AM I spend an hour with her in the morning, and then I crawl back into bed. When I am rested, I brew a small pot of Peets or Starbucks or Tullys Italian roast coffee; hit the shower; and repair to downtown Helsinki for my daily walk. What a wonderful retirement!

The picture below is Kulta walking around Alki last Summer; the picture at the right is the crystal cafe at Kamp which is a luxurious hotel in downtown Helsinki. The Kamp Bar is frequently the venue for the Harvard Club meetings. So far I have attended one meeting of the Harvard Club of Finland and met a couple of dynamic Finnish businessmen. These young Finns are serious about their businesses, and I am learning more about Finland's economy listening to them.
